Bread and Roses is an amazing bakery that always has a line out the door during the summer. We were really happy with the cake that we got from Bread and Roses. We were able to choose the flavors and have a different flavor for each layer. We also bought a sheet cake for extra servings, which helped keep the price down. We found it was a bit difficult to communicate with them, because different people in the shop gave us differnt information about setting up a meeting, whether they delivered, etc. However, we did meet with Kristen who was very knowledgable and answered our questions. The bakery focuses on their craft, baking, and does not do a lot of decoration, so we had our florist decorate the cake and it was great. They also do deliver within the area for an added fee, which we were very happy about. Overall, the cake was fantastic and well worth any confusion that occurred in advance!

Instead of one wedding cake, we ordered 3 ten inch, 3 eight inch, and 1 six inch cake, which was maybe about twice as much as we needed for 75 people. But it was soooo good, it was great to have left-overs, except the funny-bone cake (chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream frosting) there were no left-overs of that one. In fact some one stole my remaining slice off my, the bride's, sample plate, it was so good! Easy to work with them over the phone. Kept decorations simple so I could add my own custom toppers. Very flexible. Just won't deliver out of town. I figured I could trust a baker who refuses to use fondant, and I was right. Everyone loved the cake. Great socially and environmentally conscious company

We chose to do something a little different from the traditional wedding cake. Instead we ordered a small ceremonial cake and a variety of cupcakes for our guests. Everything was phenomenal! Jonquil, who originally met with us to discuss what we were looking for, gave us a sampling of frosting, cupcakes, and filling to take home with us to try at home. From that, we were able to mix and match however we liked without pressure. We ended up choosing four types of frosting to go on our traditional yellow-cake and chocolate-cake cupcakes. Each cupcake was adorned with an identifying morsel: a coffee bean for the mocha, an almond for the amaretto, a frosting carrot for the carrot cake, and a candied lemon rind for the lemon. They were adorable! For our cake, we were able to make up anything we wanted. They were willing to do whatever flavor combination without a problem. That cake was absolutely delicious. I wish I were able to post a picture of my husband when he first took a bite of it - he's in the middle of saying "God, that's GOOD." It really was.
