I have nothing but the nicest things to say about Gayle and Let Them Eat Cake. My husband and I live in New York City and were planning our wedding in Kennebunkport, Maine. Gayle made the whole process so easy that we were able to do the whole thing from our living room. From mailing us delicious samples, to designing my cake with me over the phone, it couldn't have been more convenient. We had a red velvet cake that was to die for. Gayle and I discussed the cake design in great detail. When I saw the cake on my wedding day I couldn't believe how beautiful it turned out. I highly recommend Let Them Eat Cake for any Maine bride!

Gayle at Let Them Eat Cake was amazing!I was not excited about ordering a wedding cake until I talked to Gayle. I loved that she really wanted to know my vision and get it right. She did a few sketches, which she nailed right away! The cake turned out SO gorgeous and I got so many compliments on it. It tasted great as well.I would highly recommend her, she does really great work.

I had a grooms cake and wedding cake designed by Gayle from Let Them Eat Cake. Although I live in NYC, I was getting married in Portland, Maine and was a little nervous about the quality of vendors that would be available to me in Maine for the big day. I was excited to find Let Them Eat Cake, and was impressed with Gayle's professionalism during the process of designing my dream cakes. My grooms cake was going to be a surprise and I had asked Gayle to create a soccer theme cake with my husband's favorite team logos on it. I wanted my wedding cake to be fairly simple, and asked for Gayle to incorporate some of my wedding colors/flowers into it. I really didn't know what to expect, but was absolutely floored when I saw the cakes at our events! The grooms cake was beyond anything I could ever have imagined, and the wedding cake was stunning. My guests raved about them, and were in awe at how they were not only visually incredible, but were so delicious. I would highly recommend Let Them Eat Cake to anyone that is getting married in Maine, and am grateful that they were able to add to our wonderful wedding experience!

The owner Gayle Forte was wonderful to work with! The process Gayle has in place for the tasting, design work and quote is streamlined which takes the stress out of any decision making. The cake was exactly as I imagined it would be with no surprises. Better yet, the cake tasted wonderful and we ate the whole slice during the cake cutting portion of the evening!!

Gayle from Let Them Eat Cake recently baked the wedding cake for my wedding and I cannot say enough good things! Gayle was extremely supportive through the design phase and implemented exactly what we had discussed- her attention to detail was amazing! The cake was also the most delicious wedding cake I have ever have. Our guests were all raving and the cake flew off the table- there were no slices left over. We had two different flavors- almond and blueberry torte with a buttercream frosting; both were absolutely delicious!

Finding a cake that looks amazing and captures the true personality of the couple while tasting phenomenal is a difficult task. There were so many beautiful cakes at the various bridal shows we attended, but when it came to taste they were all lacking. Not Gayle's cakes though. Know matter what flavor we tried (and we tried many thanks to her fabulous sampling that she sends you) they were all so delicious making it very hard to make a decision. We ended up with vanilla with stonewall blueberry jam and we got some many great reviews. The best reviews were about the design. Gayle took my unique cake topper (multi-level)and our ideas from our shower and wedding invitations, our flowers and turned our cake into something more beautiful than I could have imagined. I can't tell you how many times I heard "That is the most amazing cake I have ever seen" or "That cake is so creative and different and it's delicious." Gayle is an amazing person. So patient, kind, easy to work with, responsive, and reasonably priced for the amazing quality you receive. I would hire her again and again if I could.

Gayle is a great cake designer! We looked through her gallery of cakes and had our cake made as a combo of 2 of her designs. The cake was gorgeous!! It was also delicious! We received comments on how the fondant wasn't like most and was so sweet and yummy and the cake was moist. Can't wait to eat it again in 1 year! Thanks, Gayle!

Gayle was amazing from the first contact until the wedding day. Planning the Maine wedding from New York was a challenge but the cake was never a concern. Gayle sent us samples to taste which were phenomenal. We eventually chose almond cake with a raspberry chambord filling. We also opted for fondant-which usually I find gross. Gayle's is by far the best fondant I've ever tasted. In terms of design I had very exact ideas and Gayle improved on them. Our cake was absolutely stunning and I heard from many wedding guests that it was the most beautiful they had ever seen. Our flowers were all blue hydrangeas and the top of the cake has these crafted out of sugar paste-incredibly real looking! While not cheap, Gayle's prices fairly reflect her caliber of service. I cannot recommend Gayle highly enough.

I can't even begin to tell you how utterly AMAZING our cake was! I asked Gayle to design the cake after my dress. I CANNOT believe how much Gayle captured the true beauty of my dress. I am, to this moment, still speechless over it.Gayle, if you read this...thank you from the bottom of my heart!

From initial contact with Gayle at Let Them Eat Cake, in Kennebunk, ME, we were pleasantly surprised! Of all the vendors we worked with, she was by far the most responsive, professional and easy to work with. We live in Manchester, NH and she's quite a distance from where we live, but our wedding was in Portsmouth, NH, which was an area she serviced. We weren't sure how the process would work with her, but after the initial phone consultation, she packaged cake, frosting and fondant samples and mailed them to us!! Two days later we were tasting cake we received in the mail....and it was by far the best cake we ever ate!!! Gayle is creative and communicates her design ideas well. She offers multiple sketches of cakes and design ideas and she took the guess work out of wondering what it would look like. The final product was glorious..!! It was beautiful, a true piece of art which was the best tasting piece of art I've ever had!! Delicious and beautiful...!! I highly recommend Gayle at Let Them Eat Cake in Kennebunk, ME to anyone who wants at least one vendor who can make them smile throughout their entire wedding process!

Gayle at Let Them Eat Cake prepared a delicious and beautiful cake for my July wedding. Gayle was extremely helpful throughout the entire process - selection, design, delivery, etc. Before even sending her a deposit, she mailed my husband and I a ton of delicious cake samples to try. She is extremely organized and computer savy and it shows. Being from Massachusetts, it was difficult to meet with Gayle in person. However, she kept me on track with the timeline, which was very helpful. I was most impressed by the phone conference in which we designed the cake. I sent her a sample photo of a cake that I liked, but had wanted to add my own personal style to it. By the end of the conversation, she had emailed me a scanned drawing of exactly what I was looking for. The drawing was actually so fabulous that I have it framed in my living room! Delivery and payment went very smoothly, and the cake was probably the least stressful part of the entire wedding. We had decided on three and a half tiers- alternating Maine Blueberry Torte with Raspberry Chamborde Torte. We had compliments all night about the cake - about how it beautiful it looked, how delicious it was, etc. I would certainly recommend Let Them Eat Cake from Kennebunkport for any bride and groom in the area!

Gayle made a wedding cake for us this past weekend and I was absolutely astounded at how incredibly GORGEOUS and delicious the cake was. It far exceeded by expectations. All of our guests have been talking for days about how beautiful it was and how they wish they could have taken home an extra piece! Gayle had such a great feel for the theme of our wedding and the "vintage romance" vibe was very much reflected in the cake that she baked and designed so perfectly. Her website also has updated photos of all of her designs. Our is on there too! She also was so flexible with our needs, even up until the final days. I would recommend Let Them Eat Cake to anyone needing a beautiful wedding cake for their special day.

Gayle is unbelievable to work with and creates the most delicious cake! We had a beautiful wedding in Kennebunkport, and wanted a fun and whimsical theme. She created a wonderful white cake with blueberry filling that all the guests raved about, topped with two lobsters! The "groom" had a cigar, and the "bride" was carriying a pink blackberry! She totally listened to our thoughts, and used her creative talents to create a cake that was darling, humorus and of course, delicious! She gets 5 stars from us!

Gayle was incredible to work with and our cake was fabulous! We designed it over the phone with her and the finished product was better than we could have imagined. She was great to work with from a distance - she even ships samples by mail so you can taste all her wonderful creations. We knew we wanted red velvet cake but almost changed our mind after tasting some of her combinations. Our guests said it was the best wedding cake - and the biggest pieces - they had ever had. We were even left with the entire top tier as a bonus; Gayle added it on for free! I can't wait to get it out of the freezer and enjoy!

Gayle (the owner) is amazing! She loves the creative process so if you want to customize a cake that matches your wedding theme (and is DELICIOUS), she is the perfect person to work with. She provides you with a website where you can get ideas if you need some. I sent her my inspiration board and she created 5-6 sketches of different ideas that I could pick from. The cake was gorgeous and really yummy. We did half coconut and half raspberry and both were delicious. I loved working with Gayle and would highly recommend her!

Gayle is absolutely amazing!!! The cake was not only beautiful but probably one of the best tasting cakes I have ever had. Gayle made it so easy to plan my wedding from across the country even going the extra step to send samples. Beautiful work .... very unique..... by far exceded any expectations

All communication was done through e-mail, and I really wish I could have met with Gayle so I could have seen examples in person prior to wedding day. The cake was DELICIOUS and her mailing of the samples was very convienent. I tried to scale back on price by having a small 2 tiered cake and serving "kitchen cake" to guests, but still found the price to be high.
