Worst business woman ever, dishonest. Make sure you know all her policies or you will get burned. No flexability what so ever! No refunds no matter what the reason, store credit, good luck getting proof of said credit. Filthy oudated store.

Very wide selection to chose from. However too many dresses and you cant see all of them because they are all in bags and hard to look through because they are all crammed together.

I found a beautiful dress at a reasonable price. The dress was order in Spain and actually came in about 2 months. There was several things I was disappointed in, however. First of all, we were going to order tuxes from Patricia Buck. All the men came for a fitting and the staff was very accommodating. We were looking specifically for a dark, charcoal grey suit. We were handed a catalog were we could not find anything in that color. During all of the confusion of getting fitted and flipping through catalogs we were railroaded into putting a deposit down. We kept calling to see if they could order us the charcoal color, the store kept saying no, but we have a light grey. We eventually told the store that we were going elsewhere (at least 6 months before the wedding). They said we could get a refund, but we have never seen the money. Every time (even today!) we ask about it, they just keep giving us excuses about the economy. My other problem was with the seamstress. She was a lovely woman, but was very stubborn in fitting me into my dress. I had a strapless, nearly backless dress and I kept asking her to make it tighter. I literally could pop out of my dress because it was too big. The seamstress kept insisting that it was fine (she would also only talk to my mother-almost ignoring me, which further infuriated me! I am wearing the dress after all not my mother!). Once I finally begged her to make it tighter, it was too tight. She then chastised me saying that she knew it would be too tight. In the end, my mother had to end up doing the final fitting because the seamstress would not listen to me. My advice would be try on dresses at Patricia Buck, write down the style number and look elsewhere to buy it.

Do not waste your time!! I was trying on a petti coat and it had a period stain on it! Patricia was working herself and handed it to me herself to try on like that! Not to mentioned I was quoted a price on the phone and when I got there and told Patricia Buck herself about the quote I got she was like no way we would have ever quoted that price, you are wrong, that it to much for that dress. Ok, no i was not wrong, why would I right down a higher price on a dress that I was buying?!? I do not know how this mold smelling store is even open. I found the dress I liked there, said I would be back and ran as fast as I could. I ended up buying that same dress elsewhere, stain free and was not told I was lieing by the new store! DO NOT LET PATRICIA BUCK RUIN YOUR SPECIAL DAY!

For brides looking to find high end designer gowns, there is a new store in Gardiner, Maine, just 10 minutes from Augusta. The shop, called Sweet Love, carries Monique Lhuillier, Vera Wang, Cymbeline, Pronovias, Melissa Sweet, and more. The gowns are both new and used, which allows brides to get these designer brands at a lower price. They are also accepting gowns on consignment for brides who want to give their dress a second life.

You get what you pay for! Patricia Buck has a huge selection on dresses but finding one is a bit of a treasure hunt. I did work with several employee's who were kind and helpful but the store doesn't have an up-to-date system to store customer info. (They actually write your info on an index card) My dress did come in on time and was exactly what I ordered as we my veil. However it wasn't steamed and ready to be picked up at my final fitting so I had to make an extra trip. The best part about this place? My dress was an incredible bargain! You won't get star treatment with big mirrors and cushy dressing rooms but you'll have a lot of money on the dress! I paid $1000 for a beautiful thick silk ball gown! They do have a WONDERFUL seamstress, Tina. She's been doing this forever and did a beautiful job on my gown!

Do not even bother to walk through the door of this place to see what they have; don't start down the road. Dealing with Patricia Buck Bridal was the absolute WORST and most STRESSFUL part of my entire wedding! The first visit was fine and I actually found a dress I liked a decent price. After that, it was all downhill. The dress that I wanted was 2 sizes too small and they were unable to order one in my size. The sales lady went on and on about how I should take this dress anyway and the seamstress could put panels in the dress to make it fit and I would never even realize they were there. She convinced me and my mom that it would not be a problem and, like a crazy person because I was so in love with the dress, I actually went along with this. Once the dress was bought and paid for and completely non refundable, I was then advised by the seamstress that she wasn't sure it was possible to put panels in and seemed annoyed at me for asking. After a couple of visits she finally decided she could do it, but then I had to make several follow up calls to make sure that the store ordered fabric from the same dye lot for the dress. I assumed that the seamstress would do it, but found out when I showed up for a fitting appointment that she hadn't started on the dress yet because the fabric wasn't ordered yet!!!! Apparently all of my requests, phone calls and payment for the extra fabric hadn't prompted anyone in the store to actually order it. Additionally, their seamstress is 80+ years old and completely over worked!!! More than once she called me 20-30 minutes before a scheduled appointment to let me know that she wasn't going to be able to see me that day! Unbelievable!!! They write down everything about you, your dress and your requested alterations on a card that they can never find when you call or come in. Every time I came in Patricia had no idea who I was or that I had even bought a dress there or ever been in the store before! She was completely unapologetic for any issues or problems that came up. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your wedding dress! Save yourself the hassle and extra stress and pay a little bit more for service that will make you feel like a special bride.

I was very happy with the women who work there and my dress but the actual store is a bit shoddy. But low overhead keeps dress prices low! I was able to get my dress for $200 less there than any other dress shop I called. The woman who did the alterations was amazing and I really enjoyed working with her.

Not great! Was treated as a number, with long waits and little service. I had to return my custom veil twice because it was so shoddily made -- it wasn't cut evenly, which any idiot could see. Yet, when I pointed out that it was clearly several inches longer on one side than on the other, it was downplayed. They tried to convince me I could just trim it up, when I was paying a couple hundred of bucks for something I could have made myself for less and produced a better result! Then I found a run on the front of my gown's bodice at the last minute and was told, "Oh, well." When you drop about $1500 on a dress, you expect a little better in terms of quality and service. The fact that they're the only place in Central Maine gives them a lot of power, but if you have a working car, drive the extra distance and get a dress somewhere else.
